1980

This is an image of one of the first-ever 'spun' slip bowls in white semi-porcelain casting slip. It was formed inside a thrown and soft biscuit mould and fired together for support temporarily.


1980 to 1981

Marbled and spun clay 'egg' vase with landscape, shallow dish with stretch-veneering of coloured slips and a landscaped bowl of combined techniques; marbling, spun clay, stretch-veneering etc. and a circular landscape dish of stretch-veneered clays.

1981

38foot long acoustic tile panel designed and made for the main lobby of the P&O cruise liner 'Royal Princess'. Wave design tiles of spun & drawn slips with press moulding.


1982

Art reflecting nature too literally, woodland wall relief's and table lamps were very popular!

1983

This is a close-up of a slip drawn piece that has a three - dimensional coloured clay structure that was reversed after forming and excavated to a chosen depth. A little like archaeological digging.

1984

These four bowls are all three-sided and of drawn clay but treated differently with gold lustre, blue glaze, red enamel or as in the white one - window glazing! A difficult technique of infilling the fairly large openings with thick glaze.

1986

A hanging Landscaped torso 'Manice', frontal. A Tree of Life - spun & drawn clay. And a spun & drawn 'Manice' form.

1984

Whilst developing the main work of slip drawing and spinning many offshoots were tempting, the bark-like effects were used in naturalistic looking planters, some wire cut thrown pots and others alike to huge bracket fungus or rocks.

1988

'Jean' pregnant torso - waxed, semi-porcelain for wall hanging. Detail of 'Lovers', marbled/spun coloured clays.
